GINA WISKER

Gina Wisker is Professor of Higher Education and Contemporary Literature and the Head of the University of Brighton’s Centre for Learning and Teaching. Gina teaches, supervises, researches and publishes in learning and teaching, specialising in postgraduate study and supervision, including The Postgraduate Research Handbook (2001, 2008 2nd Edn) and The Good Supervisor (2005, 2012 2nd Edn) and also in twentieth-century women’s writing. Gina is a Principal Fellow of the HEA and a National Teaching Fellow, a member of the International Consortium for Educational Development (ICED) and the Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of South Africa (HELTASA). She has been Chair of the Heads of Educational Development, is a senior fellow of SEDA and was awarded the SEDA legacy award for outstanding scholarship in 2012. Lead on a number of research projects including the HEFCE/HEA funded NTF project (2007-10) Doctoral learning journeys, in 2012/13 Gina was awarded an HEA Sir Ron Cook International Scholarship in Social Justice – taking good practice from South African universities back to UK universities, work that is ongoing.
