PATRICIA MUHURO
CO-INVESTIGATORPatricia Muhuro is Senior Academic Developer in the Teaching and Learning Centre of the University of Fort Hare (UFH). Patricia coordinates the Postgraduate Diploma in higher education and training program and the student tracking and monitoring project. She is also involved in supporting integration of technology in teaching and learning and training of peer support student leaders. The focus of the SARiHE project emphasizing on the learning experience, opportunities and constraints of students attending Southern African universities drew her attention as it allows her to also reflect on her personal learning journey. Having been born and grown in a rural setting, the project is an opportunity to contribute to debates around contexts and practices that improve teaching and learning in view of efforts to decolonize curriculum and provide context and research based student support services. The project also ties in very well with her other research interests on student orientation and support, use of technology for teaching and learning and student retention programmes and practices.
